Kevin Love that is.
Mall of America, Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Timberwolves. Let's be honest, what does Minnesota have to offer? Bitter cold weather that is bone chilling? No beaches like places in California or Florida have to boast about. No heavy media attention like Los Angeles and New York have that some players envy. They do however have a 23 year old PF who should be getting way more attention then he's currently.
Pau Gasol is yesterday's news while we take a more in depth look into a player that has the potential and skill set to be one of the best (that's right one of the best) PF to ever play the game.
Kevin Love is averaging 26 PPG and 13 RPG and is currently number 4 in the race for the scoring title and his most recent unfortunate injury is dwindling his chances. Tied with Kevin Durant in 3 pointers averaged in a game whom he beat in the three point contest. Second in the league in rebounds. He's a big guy who can step back and hit the big three and has the footwork of a shooting guard when he is working in the low post. Excited to see what he can do in the passing game once a little help is brought into town. 23 years of age and attempting to lead a team from the depths of the NBA's worst teams in recent years to be a contender for a title. His disposition on the court shows his maturity level and the respect he has for the game. His work ethic is of a person fighting to make the 12 man squad. He is the next best thing, we are currently a witness to his potential. So why is it that a soft player like Pau Gasol, attitude ridden Andrew Bynum and childish Dwight Howard always the talk of trade rumors or big plays?
Look at his supporting cast that he has in Minnesota and all that I can see is a very near future Mega Star. The numbers he is able to put up while facing relentless double teams and defenses that have him as the main piece and you can't help but be amazed at this season feats.
